What do you mean “updated the link”? I used uTorrent to download this expansion and it keeps telling me I need to insert the game disc. I thought this is supposed to work. Not impressed.

try dragging the files into your sims3 folder. If this doesn’t work, try right clicking to copy and paste them to the sims folder.

this happened to me, just update your base game (regular sims 3) and it should install fine after this.
